Teasmade! God bless you Samuel Rowbottom! #bestChristmasPresents

In 1891 Samuel Rowbottom resident of 82 Abbey Road, Derby applied for a patient for his automatic tea making machine.  It was the first steps towards an invention which, in my view, doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

I mean, sure, the wheel can get us around but what use is it first thing in the morning when you’re gasping for a cuppa?  The TV?  Brings nothing but hate and warfare into our homes, the telephone? Just means people can bother me when I’m trying to relax with a cuppa and the internet?  Well, as fabulous as that is, it still takes me away from a good book with a good Earl Grey.

So, imagine my joy when my beloved sister bought me a Teasmade for Christmas!  The gift that keeps giving!  No longer will I have to walk down stairs to put the kettle on!  No, for me, it’s early morning English Breakfast every single day from here on in!!
